Mitsubishi Rally Car Builds

You want to go rallying, but how can you make sure you have a car which will prove reliable, competitive, and offer the best return in terms of performance on the money you invest in it? Few rallying novices have the resources to assemble a dedicated team to help them pursue their goals, so for most the best option is to partner with an established company who have the expertise and connections to prepare your vehicle and offer maintenance support as you drive toward your dreams.
At Arnside Motorsport, we have three decades’ experience in the world of rallying, and for more than ten years have offered our services as builders and preparers of competition cars, from club level to full international spec. For eight of those years we have specialised in Mitsubishi rally car builds, as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo has unparalleled pedigree in various forms of rallying.
The history of the Mitsubishi Lancer began in the early 1970s, when the first version of the car was released in the form of a compact family saloon. With a commuter and shopping run image, and no racing pedigree, Mitsubishi rally car builds were the furthest thing from anyone’s mind at that point. It wasn’t until almost two decades later that Mitsubishi began to develop the car as a motorsports machine, with all-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine. Over the years, the model was subjected to a continuous development process, hence the ‘Evo’ moniker. The factory team led the way in terms of international competition, but the versatility of the platform and excellent parts availability made it possible for private owners to commission their own Mitsubishi rally car builds.
The Lancer’s heyday came in the late 90s, when Mitsubishi drivers clinched four back-to-back world championships, an a constructor’s title to boot. This did more than anything else to promote the image of Mitsubishi among motorsports enthusiasts, and made Mitsubishi rally car builds popular among aspiring rally drivers. Recent editions of the model have proved to be a match for any other vehicle in their class, with one magazine labelling the Evo, “the fastest way to get from A to B on real world roads.”
Since that time, the Mitsubishi Evo has continued to find success at all levels of rallying, in the hands of rookies and seasoned competitors alike. Many successful rally drivers have been among Arnside Motorsports’ customers. Also on our website can be found other Mitsubishi rally car builds we have completed, including a WRC replica, a rally customer build, an Evo IX sprint car and our Evo X.
